Reception Information

In Reception, we promote our school's five key phrases: independence, collaboration; tolerance and respect; resilience and high expectations. We aim to establish and maintain a stimulating environment which provides a good introduction to school life. We feel it is very important to focus on children’s social and emotional needs whilst promoting their confidence, initiative, security and enjoyment. We know that children learn best through being active, including play and adventure, and promote an ethos of exploration and investigation. On Mondays, children participate in 'Muddy Monday', which gives the children time to explore the environment and learn about nature.
