Linking Project with Palfrey Junior School

Glenthorne Community Primary and Palfrey Junior School Linking Project

In 2022, Palfrey Junior School and Glenthorne decided to link up so that our children could both benefit of experiencing a different school in different settings. We also wanted to ensure that our pupils were able to mix with children who may have different opinions and beliefs to their own. To start our project, we have used our Pupil Leadership Team to develop new friendships. We have then continued to involve our PLT, as well as other children from throughout school who have engaged with the activities we have participated in. Examples of our activities have been:

• Glenthorne visited Palfrey Junior and walked around their local area, including visiting their local park.
• Forest School activities in both Glenthorne and Palfrey.
• Palfrey visited Glenthorne and did a History walk around the local area, visiting the War Memorial and park.
• Glenthorne have visited the local mosque near Palfrey and learnt all about their traditions and customs. This included having Mendi patterns as a celebration.
