Mrs Lockett

My name is Joanne Lockett. At Glenthorne, I am a Assistant Head, Reception Teacher, Year 1 and Early Years Leader.

I also lead Reading and Phonics.

I have two children called Ryan and Imogen and my husband is called Glynn. I have a twin sister who is a solicitor. My favourite films are Notting Hill, Shawshank Redemption and IT.

I loved going to Mexico for a holiday and trying lots of different foods and visiting a range of places. My passion is learning Welsh (in case my daughter goes to Cardiff university!) and reading and I have always got some books ready to start. I also love crime dramas such as Criminal Minds and Law and Order.

One of the things I really like about Glenthorne is that the  Reception children can always make me laugh and each day is different, especially as I have been here for 30 years!

My favourite subject when I was at school was Art, as I enjoyed all aspects and got a degree in Design and Technology.  Recently, I have enjoyed implementing Drawing Club in Reception.

If I wasn’t a teacher, I would be a forensic scientist or have a book shop where I would read stories all day to young children.
